Hello!! I feel slightly embarrassed by how long it has been since we have posted last-- we are so sorry if you feel out of the loop and ask for your grace! Life has changed dramatically for us since having our third boy, Roman. For those of you who don't know, Roman was born November 5th, 2014. He quickly moved into a state of colick and acid reflux-- both of which left us often stressed out and exhausted. Finally, finally, he has moved out of that stage and we feel a little more of normal life settling in. So, we apologize for the draught of posts, but hope you can understand the craziness of adding another boy to our two active toddlers! :)
So, where are things now?? Great question :) We last left off that we would be seeking a business opportunity in Pokhara, Nepal called Rasilo (the juice company). After lots of thinking, praying and processing we have come to realize that a business visa right off the bat may not be the best use of time and money. We know that Nepal is an ever changing country-- and has obviously changed since the earthquake. A business visa is ideal, but we realize that adjusting to the culture as a family and learning the language is a huge undertaking in and of itself. So, the door isn't shut to the juice company, but we most likely will not start off on that type of visa.
Ben is going to Nepal with Westwind Church, the church that planted New Heights Church, at the end of July. They're working in partnership with an organization called WaterStep. Water Step is providing water purifiers to help many people in Nepal get clean drinking water. One filter can provide 10,000 people with clean water!! This is such a huge physical need in Nepal. Ben is excited to see how setting up these purifiers will not only help these people live but also give many open doors to share the gospel!
** Prayer points**-- Pray for the nationals response to a foreign idea/product. They often are hesitant to accept change. We are definitely not the first to bring in a foreign idea to the people of Nepal, but hope that through education people would be open to change and see how it can benefit their communities.
-- Please pray for God to use this trip to continue to direct our hearts and steps toward Nepal. We know and understand that "The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps." (Prov. 16:9) We realize that this journey overseas can take a lot of time and patience as we wait for God's direction.
If you are in the Des Moines area we would love to see you if we haven't seen you yet!
We love you all and promise another update post Nepal trip!! ;)
Oh yeah...here's Roman...we kind of like him a lot! :)
